As BestOff 2018 comes to a close, I would just like to express my gratitude to the BestOff 2018 Team and to Kenneth Azurin for pulling off a successful [first] display of Sub Rosa Scrolls—in spite of my being away in LA for the first few days of the exhibition!
I’ll publish a more comprehensive write up of the experience soon; in the meantime, here are some photos from the official event photographer:

Today, I got word that Sub Rosa Scrolls has officially been accepted to the BestOff 2018 exhibition in October! This is pretty exciting news since I didn’t even expect to be working on this project—the idea came to me early this year, and I decided to pursue it with encouragement from the Media Archaeology Workshop I attended in May.
The workshop was the perfect platform to develop the piece, as I otherwise would’ve been too caught up in other things to get it going. This was great because I’m actually really liking this project—almost more than my other current pieces in development! It’s fairly exhilarating to rediscover almost-defunct media and the histories behind them, and bring them back to life with a twist.
The exhibition website isn’t up yet since I think the jury literally just finished deciding on which submissions to include, but I’m posting the link below for future convenience. For now, check out the photos of Sub Rosa Scrolls in progress below—and if you’re interested, you can learn more about it and follow its development here.
